This breakfast layer with croissants is the perfect breakfast casserole to wake up to. The soft buttery pillars of the croissants paired with sharp cheddar cheese make you feel like you’re eating a breakfast sandwich out of a pan.

Ingredients
- 9 set Eggs, beaten
- 3 whole Egg whites
- ½ cups 2% milk
- 1 tbsp Dijon Mustard
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- 4 ounces, weight Shredded sharp cheddar cheese, divided
- 4 ounces, weight Grated Gruyère cheese (Mozzarella, White Cheddar, or Pepper Jack would work), divided
- ½ cups Turkey Bacon (or Regular)
- 10 whole Croissants cut in half
- 3 tablespoons Chives for garnish
Preparation
Whisk eggs, egg whites, milk, Dijon and garlic powder in a large bowl. Add half the cheese and all the bacon.
Lightly spray a casserole dish with cooking oil. Preheat the oven to 350ºF. Place the halved croissants in the bottom of the casserole dish with some straight ends.
Pour the egg mixture over the croissants and distribute the ingredients evenly in the casserole. Top with remaining grated cheese.
Bake at 350ºF for 35 minutes covered with aluminum foil. After 35 minutes, check the casserole to make sure the eggs are cooked through. Cook longer if necessary.
Decorate with chives and enjoy!
