Ingredients

  • ½ cups Softened butter
  • 1-½ cup Granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons Vanilla extract
  • gel food coloring
  • A pinch of salt

Preparation

Let the butter come to room temperature. Beat the butter until smooth and slowly stir in the powdered sugar. Whisk until well blended.

Stir in the vanilla extract and whisk until the buttercream is light and fluffy.

Divide the buttercream into 4 bowls and add a different color of gel food coloring to each bowl (black, pink, purple, teal).

Place all the colors in a piping bag with a star tip, and pipe on the cupcakes.

Using a pastry brush, brush white food coloring on top for a nice starry effect. Repeat with luster dust. Sprinkle edible glitter stars on top and enjoy!

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
